Yoseph ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Email address: Collected when you join the waitlist or beta program.
- Visa profile information: Your visa type, time in the US, and current situation — used to personalize your experience. This is stored in your browser's local storage and not associated with a personal account.
- Chat messages: The questions you ask Yoseph and the responses you receive. These may be stored to improve the Service and for session continuity.
Information collected automatically:
- IP address: Used for rate limiting and fraud prevention. Not used for tracking or advertising.
- Browser language: Used to detect your preferred language (English or Spanish).
- Session data: A session identifier stored in your browser's local storage to maintain continuity across page loads.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Yoseph Service.
- To send you launch updates and early access notifications (email only, if you joined the waitlist).
- To personalize responses based on your visa type and situation.
- To prevent abuse and ensure fair use of the Service.
- To understand how users interact with the Service in aggregate (not individually).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your immigration-related questions or visa information for advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your email address and waitlist information are stored in a secure database (Supabase). Your visa profile and session data are stored in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted to our servers unless you actively use the chat feature.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
4. Third-Party Services
Yoseph uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic: Powers the AI responses. Your chat messages are processed by Anthropic's API. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase: Database storage for waitlist emails and session data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Railway: Backend infrastructure hosting.
- Cloudflare: Frontend hosting and delivery.
- Google Fonts: Typography.
5. Data Retention
We retain waitlist email addresses until you request removal. Chat session data may be retained for up to 90 days for the purpose of improving the Service. You can clear your local session at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time.

7. Sensitive Information
Immigration status information is sensitive. We treat it with heightened care:
- We do not share your visa type or immigration situation with third parties for any purpose other than generating AI responses.
- We do not store the specific content of your immigration questions associated with your email address.
- We strongly recommend not including your full name, passport number, A-number, or other identifying government document numbers in your chat messages.
8. Children's Privacy
Yoseph is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify waitlist subscribers of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
